Build Your Own Clone Message Board

I've been searching for a certain velcro fuzz like, torn speaker, sputter-y germanium fuzz. In the past I've used a fuzz factory but I thought it was too saturated sounding. I have been doing a ton of digging around and I came across the EHX Germanium OD.
I've had the triboost for years and it's a staple in my sound. I was wondering if anyone has experimented with voltage sag or bias with the triboost? Something to emulate the EHX GOD? Thoughts?
