Is it just me, or do the directions on page 14 contradict the picture? So, which is correct -- the picture of the directions?

Also (since the kits do not seem to come with IC sockets anymore), will the IC's fit since I socketed them? Will it protrude too much for the cover to close? Hope not, as I socketed both of them and planned to do so on the mini-phaser build as well.

No, it's not you. The current description is backwards and should read:

"If looking at the inside of the enclosure, the INPUT jack will have its sleeve terminal facing towards the AC jack. The OUTPUT jack will have its sleeve terminal facing towards the footswitch hole."

So go by the diagram, not the text. I will bring the discrepancy to BYOC's attention.

You should be OK, as long as you wire the pedal correctly and the PCB lies flat against the tops of the I/O jacks. The socket + IC combination is only about 1/4" - 5/16" high; given the additional clearance afforded by the recess in the cover plate.

Awesome, thanks, DVM!

I think that I just saved a bunch of people from some serious headaches. I deserve a free pedal for that, in my estimation!

You may have to settle for BYOC's undying gratitude rather than that free pedal! ;)
