My tribooster is working great all except for the LED. I've sourced my own parts and have used full spectrum, tri-colour LED's which I assume is correct?

The cathode is in the C hole (see pic), I've checked for shorts and tried a new LED; I'm now at the head rubbing stage having run out of ideas.

Anything obvious?

Cheers

I believe that you can get those LEDs in both a common cathode and common anode version. One of them won't work. Are you sure you've got the correct one?

I suspect that Morgan is correct. I just finished a Tri Boost myself also from sourced parts but decided to use three 3mm LEDs instead of the full spectrum one. It was a bit of a challenge to get all three wired up on the PCB and properly mounted on the enclosure, but I did it, only to discover that I wired it up incorrectly. On a typical LED the longer lead is the anode, the full spectrum LED has the long lead as the cathode and rather than do what I knew was right, I followed the instructions and placed the long lead in the "common" terminal. D'OH! After a great deal of cursing and fiddling, I was able to get it wired up properly. Test the LED with a battery and a resistor to make sure that it functions as you expect. I know that I will always do that from now on!

No, that's something I wasn't sure about, I just got a 5mm tri-colour LED and it wasn't specified whether it was common anode or common cathode; I'm guessing (hoping) it's the wrong type.?!

Thanks for the help I'll see if I can get hold of the common cathode type.

Cheers
