I just finished assembling the BYOC 27V Boost and it "mutes" when activated. I measured the voltages of the IC using the following method from another thread:

Here's a leg up for you on how to do that:

Set your multimeter to the DC voltage mode, indicated by a solid line above a dotted one. Use the 20VDC range setting if it's not an auto-ranging meter. Your power source needs to be connected to the pedal and there needs to be a cable in the input jack. If the pedal is assembled into the metal enclosure, put the black probe into one of the corner screw bosses of the enclosure--this is your ground connection. If the "guts" are out of the enclosure, use the sleeve tab of the input jack for the ground connection. Then touch the red probe to each point that you want to measure. See image below for the numbering of the pins. Report your results here.

Keep in mind that because this circuit uses a charge pump IC (the 7660S) to generate a ~27V voltage range, some of the IC pins will show NEGATIVE voltage values, so watch for that possibility in your results.

My measured values were:
TL072
1 8.01
2 7.72
3 7.30
4 7.68
5 7.99
6 8.00
7 8.00
8 8.68

7660S
1 9.37
2 8.39
3 0.00
4 7.75
5 7.74
6 9.34
7 9.34
8 9.37

FYI: I was in the process of desoldering the footswitch when I took the pic . . .

Bad charge pump IC; you should be seeing negative voltages on pins 4 & 5 of the 7660S and on pin 4 of the TL072 dual op amp. You should also see about +18V on pin 8 of the latter (my personal 27V Boost IC voltages are posted below). The voltage span between pins 4 and 8 on the op amp are why it's called "27V." Contact sales@buildyourownclone.com and request a free replacement.

As I'm sure you noted, that's a fairly large PITA to do. In the future, check in with us here before you start taking things apart in the pedal.

When you receive the new charge pump, don't try to remove the old one in one piece, which is similarly difficult. Instead, clip off the eight pins as close to the body of the IC as possible, then desolder them one at a time. Clean out the old solder from the eyelets with a solder sucker or desoldering braid and then install the replacement IC.

I finally ordered and replaced the 7660S. It works perfectly and sounds great! Thanks again for your help.
