Hi, implemented the MOSFET Boost pedal in strip board to allow mods that I wanted.

I implemented on strip board to allow a 3PDT to switch between in/out caps to switch between more treble and bass using footswitch. worked very well on LPB booster. I thought I would add it here. Unfortunately the booster is too clean, and it doesn't have as dramatic of and affect.

I also changed the gain pot to be more like the AMZ original MOSFET booster. Thinking this could be causing my problems. When I turn up the gain knob, the pedal sometimes goes into a uncontrolled feedback. however, it also can happen with the volume on high. any thoughts on why this could be happening would be appreciated.

Your "treble" switch isn't doing anything because the values you're switching between are not different enough. This isn't a "treble booster". The stock cap values are full range as is, so switching between a larger cap isn't going to change anything. You can't make full fuller. You need to change between a smaller cap. And you probably don't need to simultaneously switch the output cap at all.

As for your feedback issue, get rid of the mod you did, and go with the way it was intended. Get it working as it should and then try modding it. If you're feedback issue still persists, then you know it's something else. If you insist on using an emitter bypass cap, you're going to need to use a larger value at R5 than 1k5.

Thanks,
I was kind of thinking that for the treble change. I will switch between 0.001 and 0.1. Still gives me some utility for using with guitar. It sounds pretty good, just not what I expected.

I will change back to the original design for the gain circuit.
