Build Your Own Clone Message Board

Well I bit the bullet and bought a NOS vintage Thomas #48 "Stack of Dimes" wah inductor. Wasn't cheap $45. But the ArielFX Halo's are $28 plus shipping and I don't wan't two of the same, they seem to be the same as Keith's so that was out. Teese and Fuller don't sell them anymore but I think they too are halo "clones" too so wtf... I did it...



Now I have everything, Vintage SoD #48 inductor, NOS Mullard "Tropical Fish" film and Sprague "blue" electrolitic caps, Allen Bradley CC resistors, all trim pots replaced with 16mm externals, and all of the caps and the switch for range mod, inductor switching, and bypass mod too... this should be fun...

did anyone else go for the Area51 inductor? I had heard they have a certain sparkle. we'll see.

The Area 51 inductor ended up my second choice behind the Thomas #48. I really wanted to do one mode as original as possible and it was only $15 more.

Let us know what you think of the Area 51 inductor. I may try and do a dual inductor on a breadboard and beg someone here to show me how to wire it to a 4 pole 4 Position rotary switch... this mod stuff is endless.
