ok
maybe this will make sense..

horrendous popping in my wah.
all solder joints triple checked.
i can tap on the pcb lightly with a guitar pick and it POPs loud. very loud. irritatingly loud.

i made sure no solder joints on the pcb have a place to meet metal.. insulated the back of the board well so no contace can be made with the wah shell.

also, bad click when I engage.

help!

maybe.
i dunno. frustrating. completely covered the solder side with electrical tape and that took care of significan tportion of the issue, but when the pedal itself is bumped (little clumsy at times) hard, it will pop as well.

this sucker is kinda difficult to dial in IMO.
lot of combinations are somewhat ho-hum, but a few sound pretty sweet.

I noticed that the switch wiring diagram doesn't short the input to ground when in bypass mode. I would try re-wiring it like this...

If that doesn't fix it you may need to install pull-down resistors.

i am a geologist.. how might i apply this to the 3pdt that is supplied, or rather, what is the proper wiring for that switch?

OK, let's say this is the 3PDT stomp switch.

1 _ 4 _ 7 _
2 _ 5 _ 8 _
3 _ 6 _ 9 _

Lugs 1,2 & 3 will be used for the LED. The rest will be used for the pedal.

* Short lugs 3 & 6 together.

* Short lugs 4 & 9 together.

* Connect lug 2 to ground.

* Lug 1 will be the negative lead to the LED

* Connect the input Tip connection to lug 4 or 9 Since they're shorted together it doesn't matter which one you use.

* Connect lug 8 to the output Tip connection

* Connect the IN connection on the pcb to lug 5

* Connect the OUT connection on the pcb to lug 7

FWIW, here's a photo to hopefully get an idea of what I'm talking about......

somewhat better idea.
no led on my wah.

Does the wiring guide on the pdf file for the wah need to be updated?
Thank you Geeky. I only claim to follow instructions.. not to really comprehend some of this stuff.
building structures, welding.. things of that nature I have down quite well. Aside from the electrical, I know I could easily build a home.. but the electronics at times does not make sense, especially switches.

SO.. if anybody might take a stab at a decent drawing of how one would wire the supplied 3pdt switch so that my pop upon engagement is eliminated, I will paypal you 5 bucks. (this is, if the wiring diagram on the project PDF is inaccurate.)

For your stomp switch wiring diagram print out page 11 of the instructions. Then draw the lines connecting the lugs to the pcb and jacks as I described previously. If you're not going to use an LED just omit lugs 1, 2 & 3 and connect lug 6 to ground.
