here is a pic i made of good places to put mods for the wah. you can also add a buffer switch inderneath the rocker.

Here is how much room 2 rotary switches take up. Snug fit but perfect spot!

What I would have liked to have seen in the wah kit is side adjust trim pots. That way all you had to do was drill holes in the side of the pedal for a small screw driver to make adjustments. This way they are less likely to be messed with by others or accidently re-set by you. I don't really see the need for extrenal pots. Once the pedal is dialed in to the sound you like I don't see the need to make adjustments on the fly as you are playing. IMHO of course. :)

I still think placing the toggle switch under the treadle is a better option. It's a LOT less likely to get broken off there. Once again, IMHO. :)
