Looking at completed builds, I've noticed that people have done some really cool work painting the rubber pad one color, the moving expression pedal another color, and the enclosure base another color. So it's possible to separate the expression pedal from the enclosure base then? How is it done? And what would be the best way to paint the rubber pad and reattach it to the pedal?

The wah pads are not painted, you can buy it in different colors from http://www.mammothelectronics.com

To remove the foot rest from the enclosure bottom, you'll need a punch, hammer and just push out the pin that holds the foot rest to the enclosure.

Pin only goes out one way and goes back in the opposite, flat side goes out.

Thanks for the reply. Do the wah pads from Mammoth fit the BYOC enclosure?
