i've read all of the other posts by people who have had issues with their BYOC Divided Octave. i've touched up and even re-did some of my previous work, but to no avail.

here is what it IS doing. both lights come. however, nothing happens when both the footswitches are activated. when only the bypass switch is engaged, i get the guitar signal with no effect. otherwise, it does nothing.

also, pay no attention to the disconnected purple wire in the first pic. it has since be re-soldered, and still no joy.

this is my 5th BYOC pedal. i had one issue before with a Leeds Fuzz, but i just touched up all of the solder joints, no more issues.

here are pics of both the front and back of my boards. any thing that jumps out at ya that you think i did incorrectly, let me know. LOVE these BYOC pedal, have two more in reserve, and i want to order MORE! thanks in advance for looking.

Some of your soldering could stand improvement but the biggest problem is that you have IC5 and IC7 flip flopped. Hopefully the chips haven’t been damaged by doing so.

thanks for the tip on the IC's. the chips aren't damaged. at least not i can see, they re-seated without any problem.

i swapped out the chips, now i have a signal when both On/Bypass an Bass Only switches are engaged. just no effect. turning pots does nothing, stabilze and ringer toggles does not do anything either.

between work and school the last few days, i only got to play around with it tonight.

will touch up ALL solder joints tomorrow or sometime during the weekend, see if that does anything. and again, triple check that i have the correct resistors in the right spot.

taking pics REALLY helps, i can see a lot of bad solder joints better.

again, if you still see anything out of the ordinary, let me know.

You need the jumper located on the bottom left side I believe. Check page 8 of the instructions.

That’s the funny thing about these pedals. They tend to not work when you don’t install all the parts.

Tat' the thing about ICs, all the magic happens on the inside, so you won't be able to see any damage at all. Install said jumper first and then if that doesn't work (hopefully it will) build an audio probe and get your volt meter out.

Depends on what components you leave out. Sometimes the pedal still works, but just sounds kinda funny!
