I tried searching, but couldn't find anything with adding an LED to the wah kit. I'm a noob who has some reservations about winging any modifications, so i was wondering if someone could explain (or show me) how to wire an LED into this kit.

Is my switch supposed to be such different wiring then that one right now? My jumper is in a different position and i have an entire empty row of connections.

Thank you so much. What value resistor do you recommended for the LED. And can i grab power straight from the power adapter, or do i need to do it at the first component?

Get your 9V at the + solder pad of the adapter jack on the PCB. NOT the "bat +” solder pad. You can use any resistor from 1K to 4.7K. You can go even higher if your LED is too bright to tone it down a bit.

I'm not at all questioning your diagram because I know it works and you know what you're talking about and I obviously don't cause I'm the one that needs the help.
So anyway, what is the electronic mumbo jumbo for why the resistor is on the LED lead that is connected to the 3dpt switch rather than between the LED and its power source?

Also, where do I connect the ground?

The resistor is there to limit current. It can be placed between the +9v and the LED's anode or between the LED's cathode and the switch lug - doesn't matter.

Ground is connected to the other switch lug. So, when the switch engages the pedal circuit, it also completes the LED's path to ground and the LED lights up.

Ah, I might be doing it backwards. Or I just dont understand. I meant where does the wire from the ground lug on the switch lead to.

The negative on the led, which is the flat side.

Any ground point. It can be an extra ground pad on the PCB, a sleeve lug on one of the 1/4" jacks, the - lug on the DC jack. I just run it from the closest point I can find.

Ground the PCB and lug 2 of the stomp switch to the Sleeve lug of the input jack. Connect the battery harness ground to the Ring lug of the input jack. This way the LED and PCB can’t draw power unless there is a plug in the input jack.
