ParaEQ dual pot snaps?

I have a quick question about the snaps on the double pots for the ParaEq. Are the snaps tucked in under the middle section of the pots? I actually couldn't find anything at first and went ahead and soldered all the pots in place. Everything fits nicely with good clearance, but I'm wondering if I need to unsolder the dual pots and fit what I think might be the snaps. Do I really need them or are they just to help hold the pots in place for soldering? Thanks!
