Hey All;

Congradulations: If you are here you are obviously building (or considering building) the 10 band graphic equalizer. This is one of the newest offerings from BYOC.

Just a few opening comments regarding the Graphic EQ.

This is a unique pedal when compared to the others at BYOC. It is not a ‘clone’ of any other graphic EQ, but was designed in-house. It contains no transistors or even knobs. The heart of the unit are the two Ba3812l ICs.

Unlike some other BYOC kits, few, if any, will want to out-source the components. This is not because the parts are hard to find. It is the enclosure. Unless you have a milling machine (or a CNC!) you will not want to try to make 12 slots for sliders!

Over the next little while we will be discussing several things here. I say “we” because your input is very much needed: If you have questions we will get them answered, (and conversely, if you have answers we will find questions).

Before you start building, please look through the 'sticky' that contains the schematic, instructions, parts list and PCB photo. Even if you don’t understand all of what is going on, you can quickly see the building blocks of the EQ. More will be posted on the 'inner workings'.

There will be a “sticky” for tips specifically for building the EQ.

There will also be a “sticky” for any of the confirmed mods.

There will be "Stickys" for comparison to various other graphic EQs and their choice of frequencies.

Finally, at the bottom of the instruction there is a chart showing which components to change to achieve a specific frequency.

If you are new to building, or just want to review some great tips, please read “Stephens Tips For A Great Build”, located in the "Please Read This First" sticky.

Cheers,
Red
