Image

mojical mouser parts that i hope i ordered correctly, a few have multiple options
Mouser #: 594-2222-021-36479 Miniature Axial Electrolytic Capacitors 47uF 25volts 20%
Mouser #: 539-150103K630BB DC Film Capacitors 630V .01uF 10%
Mouser #: 539-150103J630BB DC Film Capacitors 630V .01uF 5%
Mouser #: 23PS250 Polystyrene Film Capacitors STYRENE 50V .005uF
Mouser #: 30BJ250-470K 1/4W 5% Carbon Composition Resistors 1/4W YW PR YW GD
Mouser #: 66-RC07GF474J Carbon Composition Resistors 470K OHM 5%
Mouser #: 791-RC1/4-474JB 1/4W Carbon Composition Resistors 470Kohms 5%
Mouser #: 66-RC07GF683J Carbon Composition Resistors 68K OHM 5%
Mouser #: 791-RC1/4-683JB 1/4W Carbon Composition Resistors 68Kohms 5%

i have a question or two about the circuit... first a correction to the above mouser order, the 3.9 resistors arent the correct parts, they should be 3.9k so dont order those ones...

is the rangemaster crackle ok or do i have a bad pot or what?
on a black glass oc-44, what does the red dot imply? i placed the transistor so the red dot connects to b1, that orientation was louder.
and
does anyone know the 3 way toggle switch mod?

thanks! viq~

Crackle while adjusting the pot is normal. The DC voltage on the pot is the cause.

The red dot indicates the collector.

Not sure exactly what you mean by the 3-way toggle mod. Is it to change the value of the input coupling cap? This is easily done using a DPDT ON/OFF/ON switch. Connect the poles of the switch to the leads of C1. Then connect the caps you want to connect in parallel with C1 across the throws of the switch. I usually add a second .005uf cap and a .01uf cap to the throws. The OFF position uses the .005uf cap, flip the switch to make the input cap .01uf. Flip it the other way for a .015uf input cap.
