Just for sh!ts and giggles. :D

I included several of the more popular VJ mods. This is something of a mix between the Voxy and Marshall mods.

If it sounds any good, I'll do another version with the Tweed tone control.

Any input is welcome! Especially as regards FET selection. J201 is gainy, but 2N5457 seems to be more "smooth" for lack of a better word. I also noticed that on higher-gain circuits, ROG sometimes uses MPF102 in Q1.

Interesting idea! Combine this with a cab sim and direct or headphones out and it might be an interesting little box? Your certainly pushing your knowledge envelope 8)

CJ,

R2 needs to be ahead of R1. As it is now those two resistors are acting as a voltage divider, so your cutting signal before it even hits the first gain stage. Move that 1M R2 in front of R1, it will stick act like a gate stopper and prevent it from swinging positive.

Q3 is simulating the output stage?

Yeah, I know. That's how it's set up on the Valve Jr. Only on the stock VJ (version 1/2), it's a 68K/68K voltage divider, which is dumping half the signal to ground. Not until version 3 did they crank up R2's value to 1M.

That's what it's supposed to be. I wasn't quite sure how to deal with a pentode-to-FET conversion, so I just looked at several of the ROG projects and took my best shot.

Haven't looked at the VJ schem in a while, silly Chinese engineers!
