I'm giving up the goods on several of my PCB designs. I have released a few in the past, but lately I've been tight fisted. Saw a post at FSB that encouraged me to let these puppies loose.

This is "The Snitch!", which is a work-alike of the Rat. Incidentally, "Rat" is a registered trademark of ProCo, and no affiliation between myself and ProCo should be inferred or assumed, nor am I implying any such affiliation. Get it? Good.

These files are provided with absolutely no support from me. Do with them as you will, but that's your business, so don't make it mine.

This layout is verified. The schematic is also included so that an enterprising youngster might make mods himself/herself. The format is Eagle CAD 5. I encourage people interested in learning Eagle to download the files and have a go at modifying things.

Without further ado:

cool thanks, that is very nice of you :D I will load this up to learn from, as I'm only on my second Eagle layout..

This seems like a good time to ask- "if" you use a non-standard library (such as gaussmarkov, madbean, custom-made, etc.), and you share .brd and .schem files with someone else who doesn't have those libraries.. problems? :?:

You can move the parts around and such. You just won't be able to add new ones like it without copying the part on the schematic. So it should be fine as is.

This design, actually, uses gauss-markov parts mostly, although I did modify them to some extent. So if you load a new part from the gm library (resistor, for example), it will want to update all of the parts on the schematic/layout to match what you have locally on your machine.

The reality is that once you post something online, it becomes freeware. You can put "for non-commercial use only" on it, but it won't help. The people who are scrupulous would've asked to use it anyway, and the people that aren't would just take it.

So it's better to just give it up completely, in my opinion. Either that or don't share.

Respect for the high road. 8)
For what it's worth, you'll always have some food, a beer and a couch to sleep on here, should you find yourself down and under.

I don't know what it is but my work just won't open these files easily. I normally can open up about anything at work really.

Anyone have it in a PDF or different format unzipped?

Hmmm..I wonder if this will pass through our security. Guess I'll find out.

I'll print at home if need be but I like to use the ink at work. That shit is expensive !!!!!!!

Just download the main installer and choose "run as freeware" when you fire it up the first time.

right click on the file, tick the "run as admin" square and try again.
Might work

I was told I'm not set up in security to have "admin" rights.

I hate it when the head of the IT dept calls me and tells me I should not do something  That has happened twice and I don't want it to happen a third time....I like my job :|

I can't install Eagle on my work machine, either.

Man, if that were allowed.....holy schnickies.

I've got a one year old IMac and it will not open this zipped file. Clicked on every possibility including right clicking. Will not open it.

Does anyone have this in another format? Kunfuz, it looks like you opened it. Any chance you could send via email?

Nice catch!

However, I don't think that will affect the circuit. You don't need that connection. It's there in case the wiper goes bad (so the pot doesn't totally die).

But it's a mistake nonetheless.

Yeah I know Forrest, that's why I did it with a wink.
For learning and science, what's the easiest way of removing said airwave?
Thanks again for this, I've learned a lot studying your designs my friend :D

The best thing to do is make the connection on the board. Use the Net tool to connect the lugs with a trace. It's a 5-second fix, and it is what I originally intended to do.
