I thought you guys might like this little circuit snippet that works with any standard Muff version. I recently traced the tonestack of the Mojohand Iron Bell, which is a very slick Muff variant.

It's the basic Muff tone control, with an added pot and cap in parallel with one of the standard tone caps. So basically it's like a "mids intensity" control, at least to my ears. It's quite useable, but is only really audible on the treble side of the Tone pot sweep (which makes sense when you look at how it is set up).

Anyway, here's what I drew up this afternoon. You can ignore the values of the emitter and collector resistors of Q3, as I just noted those during the preliminary part of the trace.

Any questions, just ask.

Interesting. Have you had the chance to mess with it at all? I'm just learning about parts of schemes (like this one!) and what kind of effect they have on sound so please correct me if I'm wrong. But theoretically, you could also add another pot in the low pass filter to control that area of the mids too? I think it's overkill but still possible. And and, I can't tell by looking but if this has flat nids and you used a daul-ganged pot set up in a similar fashion on the other filter you'd have a truer control right? Just musing, preventing myself from sleeping

Oh that's clever. It's just a cap blend circuit to mess with the value of the mid cap. Love those snippets.

Yes, it is simple, but it really does have a nice and wide effect on the tone control.

Also note: I read the collector resistor value wrong (R1). It should be 15K. Not that it matters for the tone control mod, but I thought I'd add that.
