Notes: I changed the cap over collector base of Q1 to 1nf from 2nf. For the switch you need a SPDT switch with 3 positions, so it latches in each. This gives you cap lift, 100nf and 1uf with the lift in the mid position. Lift is lo fi, gets progressively gainy. Feel free to change cap values.

I used silicon diodes, I prefer them to the germanium ones. Volume and tone work as you'd expect. Clip increases clipping as you turn it CW so volume decreases. Scoop, more scooped so sound thins as turned CW.

Match the pair with your meter hfe function.

The capacitors in the tone path don't need to be 10uf, I used 4u7 for the in and output caps and 1uf either side of the clippers, experiment.

Added post tone boost section.

Edit: I've uploaded this again with the missing track cut (to the left of Q2 collector) added and notes on the connections for the righthand side of the board.

Thanks mate! 2 more customer builds then this is up!
Do you mind if I try to make a layout in DIY layout creator for you to take a look at, and then I will verify it if it mirrors your layout?

This ones really down to the mods that Mark Hammer posted up on diystompboxes, I just had a bit of a mess around with it and drew up a simple vero that quite closely follows the way the schematic is laid out.

I don't know how many holes, I draw them a bit spaced out for ease of reading then just solder em up using the space as economically as I can. This one fits landscape in one of the larger standard enclosures.

If you do a board, check the schematic as you go to confirm values, and note that I added the final stage from the univox superfuzz to boost the output.

Matt is more like the ninja behind the curtain, or in the shadows of the light emitted by your monitor. You can hear him in your computer fans if you are quiet enough. He emits a kinda high pitch noise when he is working his magic. sort of a wwwwwssssshhhhheeeee.

Some say he knows all the lyrics to every single song ever sang by The Bangles. He has been known to eat double whoppers from burger king in one bite. He's the one who inspired Bill Gates to install home automation in his house. All we know for sure is he's called Matt.

When I read this, I hear it in Tom Waits' voice to his song "Black Wings."
