After making several BYOC kits and distributing them around the area I have had several interesting requests for rather specific tones. The most interesting is a fella that want to recreate the bass fuzz tone on the Marty Robbins song, "Don't Worry 'Bout Me", which came from an amp that had just broken one of the power tubes. I am just curious if anyone is familiar with this tone and maybe some suggestions as to which fuzz to modify for this tone, thanks

That was not a bass.

This is a faithful rendering of the original recording, and it is just as I remember it.

The upright bass track is not distorted. That is a guitar through a blown tube amp.

Marty Robbins was a class act. He was kind enough to shake hands with a young boy back stage before a concert, and announced the young boy's request (Big Iron) to the audience later at the show, delight of the young lad.

A true gentleman.

I guess that doesn't really answer your question. But it will help you find the tone if you know how it was produced.

Peace.
