Hi all, I am encountering a popping noise upon activating the tone and cut switches and was wondering if that's normal. I also get a loud popping noise when switching from S.E. to standby, or from P.P. to standby. Is this behavior normal or is there something wrong? The amp otherwise performs flawlessly.

NOTE: the first two pictures were taken before wiring the heaters.

Nice looking build.

Yes, that is normal to get a pop when switching those. They are mechanical break-before-make switches, so that's to be expected.

In that top pic, it looks like there's an un-soldered turret between the two coupling caps on the right. I know you mentioned these pics were taken before the build was compete, but I figured I'd point it out just in case. I know I've done things like that before

Good to know, thanks!

Defaced, great eye. The joint had a solid mechanical connection so there weren't any symptoms, but I went and soldered the joint properly.

Are your eyes drawn to that stuff like mine are to boobs or did you actually have to look to find it?

You know what they say, every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.

Now about boobs, my eyes are drawn to them too (thankfully The Little Miss finds it amusing).
