I accidently installed the 6l6 tube 1 terminal off, counter clockwise. The amp hummed and blew the 22uf capacitor out. I have replaced the capacitor but still get no sound from the guitar..if more is needed I will provide..I messed up..thanks

Could you please clarify this statement for me?

Are you saying that you installed the 6L6 tube incorrectly in the socket or that you incorrectly wired the socket?

Have you tried a different 6L6 tube in case your error damaged the original one?

Do you have a multimeter and know how to measure high DC voltages SAFELY?

Larger photos would be very helpful--those are too small to show the level of detail we need to see to provide effective troubleshooting advice.

In addition to duhvoodooman's suggestions, there's a start up guide at the end of the instructions, detailing the voltages you should have with and without tubes installed. If you know how to take voltage readings, you should do this and report anything that doesn't seem right. Keep in mind that the listed voltages are really more of a suggestion and can vary by quite a bit. 5 or 10 percent. So a B+ voltage that should be 360VDC could be anywhere between 330VDC ~ 390VDC. But you're going to see a much smaller swing at something like a cathode voltage that should only be 1.8VDC. With a smaller voltage you'd expect to see a swing of less than 1VDC.

When I installed the 6l6 tube I installed it against the installation pin...I don't know how I did that but I did. It ended up in the incorrect sockets...one pin off..I do have a multi meter and do know how to safely measure current with it, with guidance...I have ordered another 6l6 tubeand will start checking voltages carefully..thank you

I took a reading at pin 3 on the smaller tube...it should have have been 25 volts...I got nothing...

No. Pin 3 and pin 8 of the 12AX7 should be 1.8VDC. Without a tube in the socket, there shouldn't be any voltage at those pins at all. The cap at pin 3 is rate for UP TO 25VDC, but that doesn't mean you should see 25VDC at that pin.

Please follow the start up proceedure on page 75 of the instructions. Tell us at which step in that procedure your amp stops doing what it's supposed to do.

I tested the different areas as asked and came up with good numbers. It bothered me in the back of my head so I lifted up the board again to look underneath and found that I did not solder one joint...that's all it took...put it back to gether, even with suspect tube and it plays loud. Thank you so much, once again for your guidance and help..Richard Stearman

Yep, only takes one bad/missing solder joint! Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Now go bother the neighbors with your new amp!
