so, some of you may recall that i was having a lot of trouble with my OD2 (built stock but with mosfet clean boost)
i'm hesitant to repost this, but i can no longer find my old thread

anyway, a lot of you were concerned that it was the footswitches adn new ones are on the way
but, there was a trace that i believed that i had cut and on friday, i resolder it
put the parts in loosly, and IT WORKED
full functioning OD and full funcitonng boost and bypass - all the switches adn everythign worked as described
excited, i bolted down oall teh knobs and switches tightand installed teh knobs
no, it does work
back to where i ws before with teh input and output jacks both showing connectivity to ground

any idea what happened?

We lost a couple months worth of posts. That's where your old thread went.

That can only mean two things: 1. You have something shorted out. 2. Or you have some loose wiring.

i figured something si shorting the signal to ground
i'll have to figure it out
thanks
butif i get no bypass that may mean that the short is in the switches
maybe a solder joint is touching the metal enclosure

What is status/timing on your planned replacement of the two original footswitches?

FIXED!!!!!

even though footswitches are awaiting shipment from one our gracious and probably extremely busy moderators

anyway
its wasn't the switches
it wasn't a cooked cap
sorry gents
it was 2 things
1) i had cut a trace a while back thinking that 2 solder joints were touching (but there was really a trace underneath) and i had to reconnect it
then my pedal worked but when i tightened all the hardware down real goo d it was shorted out
2) i looked at every pot, switch wire, trace adn coudlnt' figure out what was shorting
then i realized that when i tighted the footswitches (because of the small enclosure) the medal top of one of them was overlapping a trace on the board by just a milimeter ( i coudl actually see a wear mark
so i wrapped the switches with electrical tape, put em in and BANGO - i'm up and running

everything works now, but i just find the boost channel, which i built to mosfet specs, to be a bit noisy
and also, that turning it down actually brings it below unity gain
is that normal?

Glad to hear that you finally got the pedal working. Guess the problem was things we couldn't see in your photos, eh?

It's normal for the boost to be capable of below-unity gain on the left side of the knob arc, esp. with the MOSFET boost. If you want more volume, try changing that 470 ohm resistor to something in the 100 to 200 ohm range. I have a 150 in mine, and unity gain is just short of 12 noon. Not sure why you're hearing noise, though. Mine is nice and quiet.
