Hello folks. Just built my second Silver Pony. Works perfectly on external power. Does nothing on battery alone. No light, no function. I still have my original Pony and for the life of my can't find a mismatch when I compare the two. I have a multimeter but I'm not sure how to diagnose the problem. I read 9v between the red battery terminal and the tip of the power jack. I've determined that the working Pony reads 9v between the tip of the power jack and each of the + connections but he non-working one only reads 9v between the tip and the inboard pad, not the pad farthest on the right (with the resistor in the circuit). Before I pull it all apart I'm wondering if anyone can see anything that I'm missing on the component side of the board or in the wiring. Thanks for any help you can give me.

With no power plug in the 9V adapter jack use your DMM to see if you have continuity between the two + lugs on the jack. If there is no continuity between the two you will need to replace the jack.

This jack is switched. When there is no plug in the jack the two + lugs are internally shorted together providing a path for the positive of the battery to power the circuit. When a power plug is inserted into the adapter jack the connection between the two + lugs is broken and power is provided by the power supply you use to power the pedal.

Thanks for your reply. Quick check this morning shows no continuity between the + terminals on the jack. Will check more carefully later and try the replacement.

Hey again. Yup. Defective dc input. Swapped out and all good. Thanks again for the diagnosis.
