I've been investigating sourcing my own parts for the mighty mouse. There seem to be a few variants of the LM308 IC. I would appreciate if someone could please steer me in the right direction.

Another query I have is about the 9.1v zener diode for the triboost - these diodes also come in a few variants, ranging from 5 watts or so down to .5 of a watt. I'm assuming that a .5 watt diode will do, or is there a specific wattage (or range) that I need to get.

Thanks
William

Small bear electronics http://www.smallbearelec.com/home.html sells a good IC for the rat or "rodent"

.5 watt should work

Thanks for your help Scott

I'm looking to source the IC from a UK supplier. It seems that the IC I want, from the smallbear page, is LM308N. Is anyone able to confirm this is the case?

William

Yes, that's the one.

I've also used TL071 with great results and readily available at Mouser, but you will need to remove the 30pf compensation Cap... the TL071 doesn't need it, where as the LM308s do.

On the BYOC version would I need to jumper where the 33pf cap would be? I have both ic's and had read on GGG how the tl071 sounds more "metal". So I'm going to try that sound 1st.

Do not install a jumper. Just remove the cap and leave it at that.
