Hi I have just order a classic overdrive and would like to do a few mods.
I am going to use the pedal to boost my rhythm channel on my peavey 6505.
I will be turning the gain right down level about 75% and tone to taste kind of thing.

I would like to mod the pedal to increase treble and reduce the gain

Cheers

Honestly, there is a few ways to do this. I would suggest building the pedal stock first for two purposes...A. To makes sure it works and B. To see if the sounds you are looking for are there already/how much you need to mod.

Sounds like you want to cut bass frequencies Pre-Gain.That being said, a favorite trick of mine is to double R7 (4.7K to 10K) and half C4 (.047uf to .022uf). To me that cleans up the "mid hump" and does seem to leave a bit more bite on the high end. Will lower your gain a bit, too. You could just try lowering C4 on it's own, too.

Lowering the gain outright? I'd try a 22k at R6 (in place of the 51K). But may not get you as reduced as you want to use as a clean boost.

I'd suggest socketing all the above components.

I am sure some other guys have some other methods, too. Let's hear what they have to say.
