I installed all of the components and accidently used a power supply that I made that was wired for center positive and now all I hear when the pedal is on is a whistling noise.
Signal passes correctly when pedal is off and the LED turns on.
Ive also replaced the Diodes, IC, and the polarized electrolytics.
Could the Tantalums have been harmed?
please help.

tantalums are generally unforgiving. I'd replace them, and also look at the transistors.

dont forget that tantalum caps are also considered polarized and will toss if reversed biased.

Ok so here is an update I found one problem I had used different transistors than the one that comes with the kit and the pinouts were different I changed that and now I have sound but only when the Tone knob is almost all the way up I've replaced every Polarized electrolytic the IC the transistors and 1 of the tantalums but I didn't have another tantalum.
Could that one tantalum cause that I'm going to replace it anyways but I was just wondering if that would be the reason the tone knob is acting like a volume.
