Which of the BYOC PCBs is closest to the Colorsound or Throbak overdriver? Is there one? I've done some searching of the site and haven't come across it.

thanks

I'll defer to Keith or Nick on this, but I'm pretty sure that BYOC doesn't offer anything that's really close to this circuit.

Suggest that you check out Madbean's "Cherrybomb" project, a direct clone of the Colorsound Overdriver. He gets $9 for the PCB, and you'd need to invest in another maybe $40 - $50 worth of components and hardware to build the pedal (not including shipping costs). Having to source everything yourself is obviously a bigger hassle than an all-in-one kit, but you'd end up with exactly what you're looking for.

EDIT: Throbak charges $319 for their version of this pedal?!? Mercenary jerks!! Guess I shouldn't be surprised, based upon what they charge for their pickups...

Thanks,

I appreciate your feedback. I have many of the parts already accumulated...one good thing about Radio Shack going out of business, most parts are 60% off...but I digress.

I have been looking at this board layout but would prefer a ready made PCB. Too many things to go wrong for me trying to do it this way...

I'll check out madbean!

Probably wise. Building on perfboard or vero/stripboard can be fun and rewarding, but it's definitely a trickier endeavor, and if you want to try it, I suggest a much simpler circuit as your first build. For something like this, $9 is a major bargain compared to the hassle of working from a vero layout!

Colorsound on vero is a relatively easy build, but yes, it can be intimidating.
