Hi everyone,

Working on crown jewel.
Soldered the electrolyte capacitors.
Man the distance between the two soldering eyelets is small! On one of the capacitors the solder of one of the eyelets has leaked into the other I think. So i guess the two legs of the capacitor are now connected? Is this a problem and if yes how do i solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, that's a problem. Depending upon where the electrolytic cap is located in the circuit, it could potentially render the pedal inoperable.

You basically need to remove the excess solder between the two eyelets until there is clear separation between them. This is best accomplished with a "solder sucker" or with de-soldering braid. But sometimes you can just dab at it with a clean solder iron tip and transfer the excess onto the tip. Then wipe it off and repeat until the two solder joints are separate.

Desoldered it with a sucker. Still the eyelets are very close :? . Measured with a multi meter. You know to measure connection and when it does it beeps... They dont make connection but everytime I measure I get a very short little beep then silent..but it does this with all the elcos. Is this typical for elcos? Maybe a bit of decharging (even though i havent put any charge like a battery or so on the board yet)?
