Build Your Own Clone Message Board

For my first build, I decided to go with the British Blues Overdrive and Green Pony. It was a success! They sounded great! I actually played a couple of gigs with them. Then I decided I wanted to paint the enclosures. So I pulled everything out, painted, put everything back in. Since then, I’m on getting signal in bypass. When the pedal is engaged, there is no sound and no led. This is happening on both pedals! How could they go from working perfectly to not working at all? What could be the issue??

Did you by any chance paint the inside of the enclosures, as well as the outside? If so, you could possibly have lost your ground connection on the output jack, which grounds through the enclosure on some BYOC kits. Also, carefully check your wire connections, which are pretty easy to break when pulling the "guts" out of the enclosure. Lastly, if you disconnected the wires from your DC adapter jack, make sure that you didn't make THIS MISTAKE reconnecting them.

No I only painted the outside. And I triple checked when I soldered the power jack back on. I’ve also resoldered the input and output jacks.

In that case, time for some photos. They need to be LARGE, well-focused, well-lit shots of the PCB and all of the switch and jack wiring.

I know you said you triple checked, but check one more time. I go clockwise from ground, dc, battery. If you’re not using a battery, you won’t even have to hook that part up.

+1. The Green Pony definitely has the two + connections on the DC jack switched. I can't trace out the jack wiring from the British Blues photos, but 9'll getcha 10 you did the same thing on that one.
