I finally built the crown royal. I don’t get any power unless if I press down on the 78L05 transistor on a certain angle. (Testing it outside the enclosure).

I checked the solder joints and reflowed and also checked for solder bridges too. And I didn’t see any solder joint flaws.

I think I may need to replace the transistor. Does byoc sell a replacement of that transistor? I didn’t see it on their website

Also when I pulled out the suspect transistor, I found that one of the legs fell off so it looks like it was detached from inside the transistor body which may have caused the poor connection

Send an email with your address to sales@buildyourownclone.com and tell Hayley I sent you. I have a 78L05 here on my desk for you.

Just contact sales@buildyourownclone.com and ask for a replacement 78L05. Sounds like the original was defective, so they should replace it for you at no charge.

By the way, though Crown Royal is a very nice blended Canadian whisky, BYOC doesn't sell it. They do, however, sell a Crown JEWEL pedal kit, which I assume is what we're talking about here.

EDIT: Oops! Nick already beat me to it. He's a speedy little bugger, ain't he?? And Ribs already corrected the Crown Royal thing. I'm just WAY TOO SLOW today!!

Or maybe the Crown Jewel and the Echo Royal (and/or the Phase Royal) together in one big enclosure!

Cant you just go to a liqor store, and buy a bottle of crown royal, and get a free bag?

BYOC would have to slight alter the spelling of Crown Royal, as to not be in violation of international copyrights, but this is a very good name for a pedal. :)
