Building a bass drive. I know the directions say to remove the pot condoms, but it seems like then they will short out against the back of the board. Thoughts and advice?

So I manned up, removed the covers and all is well. 2nd pedal in a row that required no debugging...and I drank a sixer while assembling!!

Nice work! If you ever run into that problem, you can always insulate the back of the pots with something thinner, like electrical tape. Or something of the same thickness that doesn't go over the sides and cause them not to fit, like double sided foam tape.

Thank Stephen. I guess my question is...do the condoms HAVE to be removed? I just see no downside to leaving them, but I could definitely be missing something.

Not necessary as long as you can get them all to fit side by side. The dust caps add about an eight of an inch to the diameter of each pot, so it can get to be a tight fit.
