Hello. I'm currently troubleshooting my finished orange distortion which isn't working. Can someone please review these readings I got from the chip and tell me if these seem right? Thanks!

2- 6.32

3- 6.50

4- 0.00

5- 6.26

Pin 7 should show the same voltage as your power source and be the highest voltage of all seven pins, so these results look questionable to me. May be a bad IC.

Is this the same pedal from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=59971

Is it possible that the pins numbers are reversed? It's a bit tricky to tell when the ground is in the middle position...

Sure, it's possible. The #1 pin is at the bottom, goes into the square solder pad, AND the IC is beveled on that corner. Plus the instructions are quite explicit about this.

Also, most of the other pins (other than #4) should show right about 4.5V (1/2 of the power source voltage) so those values are consistently higher than they should be.

Yeah I did post this before. Was trying to work it out on my own but I'm stuck. I've resoldered every single component to make sure I had good connections.

The IC readings are from top to bottom. Sorry should have specified that. Double checked and I do have it oriented correctly.

So to clarify. This is how I should have stated it.

7- 9.14

6- 6.32

5- 6.50

4- 0.00

3- 6.26

2- 5.20

1- 7.06

I'm thinking I might have a bad chip or I did something to mess it up. Not sure what else it could be at this point.

Looks like a bad chip. Please contact sales@buildyourownclone.com and we'll send you a replacement.
