Hey, thanks for having me on the forum. This is my first post. I'm 2.5 of 5 on the expert scale where 5 are the builds here and 1 is "a soldering what?". I've been making kits for a few years purely for myself.

So I found a brand new package Large Beaver v2 on the net and snapped it up. It had never been opened. The build is going great, I'm building the triangle version V1. Here's a photo of my build so far.

But I got confused with the parts list. Briefly, I'm up to C1, C6, C13 and C15. Step seven on the instructions says this is when I should install aluminium electrolytic caps.

I have four tin can caps; 3 x 1uF and 1 x 10uF

These caps don't appear in the build list although they are in the packing checklist. Looking through the forum I think I get the message that the electrolytic caps are for the other version? Please tell me if I'm mistaken

I also have these four caps.
2 x 0.5 ceramic disc
2 x 0.1LuF foil caps. (two of six in the packing list)

However, the instructions call for different values:

C1: .1
C6: .05
C13: .05
C15: .1

The question is: Can I substitute 0.1 foil caps in C1 and C15?

Also. What goes in the spot lower left next to T3? Looks like it should be a diode?

Many thanks

The kit came with the parts to build either version, so that's why there would be the extra caps. There are no electrolytic caps in the V1 specs. I'm not sure which instructions you're looking at.

Hey thanks for replying. The instructions are a little unclear so I went straight to the Rams head section for the caps installation. I think I'm going to dismount all of those resistors and build the Rams head one with the caps that I have. Thanks again
