Build Your Own Clone Message Board

I built my lil pony and it sounds great and seems to be working as expected, except for the range of gain available. Basically, there is almost no overdrive until the pot is turned to about 3 o'clock. When gain pot is turned fully clockwise, it sounds great but not as overdriven as I believe it should. For reference– I built a silver pony 2 a while back and compared them (specifically germanium clipping setting, which is supposed to mimic the original circuit). There is much more gain on tap, which is added progressively as I turn the pot clockwise.

Im guessing the issue (if there truly is one) is a switched up component. I haven't full disassembled the pedal, but can if needed. See pics below– can send a video later with sound if it would help.

Since this pedal has a pretty complicated wiring scheme, I'd start by carefully checking all of the wire connections against the diagram on page 21 of the instructions and make sure there are no errors there. If that turns up nothing, I'd suggest getting a complete set of DC pin voltages on the three IC's a report them here. For comparison, below are the voltages on my own fully functional Li'l Pony:

well. I mixed up my As and Bs on the gain pot.....fixed it. seems to work at very low volume, will confirm tomorrow when roommates aren't sleeping.
