Build Your Own Clone Message Board

Saw the new mouse kits so I thought I would sell the old and build the new.After last nights gig the drummer said he'd buy it. He took it plugged it into a positive tip adapter and wooshka.The resistor that is first after the 9v imput fried,got so hot it blackened the one next to it. Is there anything else that it would have damaged? I take it the chip would be stuffed.BTW got any good drummer jokes

Hmm well... there's no telling the extent of damage with this type of thing but I think it's probably safe to say that the chip will have gone. Resistors and caps will often show signs of damage, discolouring in resistors and buldging in the caps.
Im afraid the only way to tell for sure is go through and test each component and take some voltage readngs if possible.
