So I'm having the opposite of the classic pedal dilemma. The pedal passes no signal when disengaged. When engaged, the LED comes on, and there is a fuzz effect, but no octave (or extremely weak unnoticeable octave), regardless of octave switch position. There is not a noticeable difference between the two octave switch positions. I've reflowed all the joints (and I know the DC jack cables are heinous but I made sure there was no short circuit there while testing). The issue is the same with battery or dc power. I've double checked placement and orientation of components multiple times and haven't been able to find a mistake.

I have a multimeter but I'm not sure what measurements I need to take to start tracking down the issue, so any help is appreciated.

Since the pedal puts out sound when engaged, the lack of a bypassed output can really only be a couple of things. First thing to check is the solder joints on either end of the jumper between lugs 4 and 9 of the footswitch. Try reflowing those joints adding a bit more solder to each end. If that doesn't do the trick, you may have a bad footswitch, i.e. not making the internal connection between lugs 8 & 9 in the engaged position. You can test that by checking continuity with a multimeter.

Re: the no octave effect problem, first double-check all of your component placements to make sure you don't have a couple of things switched around. If that checks out, try switching to your neck pickup, roll off the treble pot halfway or so, and play on the G-B-E strings up around the 12th to 17th fret. The effect is much more pronounced under those conditions.

Good call checking the foot switch, looks like pins 4 and 5 don't have connectivity when latched to that side. Haven't had a chance to check the octave again but hopefully I just had it set wrong.
