i noticed that all the schematics i see of the fuzz face have a .01 output cap and that the BYOC kit and board call for a 0.1 cap. thats a big difference.

what effect does this cap have? it looks like the equivelent of a coupling cap in a tube amp..... could one do a bass cut mod here too?

i found that my fuzz (with .047 in cap) sounds great with my tele and is a bit muddy and mushy with humbuckers. looking to do some sort of HB / SC switch. anybody try something like this?

thanks,
johnny

Some fuzz faces had a .01 in them and some had a .1 in them. So either one is the "correct" value. Using a .01 will reduce the bass somewhat, but IMO the .1 gives it a more open sound rather than a more bassy sound.

Adding a switch for the input cap is probably the most common mod for the fuzz face. It is very simple. There are dozens of threads on here about how to to the mod.
