Build Your Own Clone Message Board

so i am trying to decrease the amount of bass and increase the brightness in my fuzz face clone. I am considering changing the volume pot to 100k like i have seen suggested on here, does this have any effect on the output level of the effect?? The amount of volume available now is perfect, and i dont want to decrease that, just brighten the pedal up a bit.
I have already messed with the input and output caps, but still sounds a bit dark to me...otherwise it is super smooth and sustains forever...
