Hi,

I'm at the step where I'm to install the diodes:

"STEP 2: Add the diodes. The 1N4001 will be black with a silver stripe. The Germanium
diodes will be clear with a green stripe. Be sure to matched the end of the diode with the
stripe to the layout on the PCB. The stripped end should go in the square solder pad.
"

The 2 Germanium diodes I have in my Leeds Fuzz kit do not have a green stripe, but have a white stripe on one end, and a grey stripe on the other end. Which of the 2 stripes should be oriented in the direction the instructions say to orient the green stripe with?

Can't tell which end of these diodes should be oriented with the stripe on the PCB.

The Ge diodes are D1 & D2 on the PCB. As long as you insert the diodes the same it doesn’t matter which way they go. In this case you could insert the white stripped end into the square solder pads. You could even insert the green stripped end into the square solder pads. As long as both diodes are inserted the same it doesn’t matter which end is which.

Thanks, Stephen.

I have another question, about the film capacitors. The instructions say I have:

1 - .001µf/1n filme (1n0j)
1 - .0022µf/2n2 film (2n2j)
2 - 0.1µf/100n film (100nj)

And for my kit I have two 104k, one 102k, and one 222k film capacitors (all 63v).

I don't know how to translate the numbers, but, is it like this?:

The two 104k = the 0.1µf/100n film (100nj)
The one 102k = the .001µf/1n filme (1n0j)
The one 222k = the .0022µf/2n2 film (2n2j)
