Hey guys, first time builder here, my be out of my element on this one. But I just finished this yesterday and I can't get the overdrive to work. LED turns on when using the batter power, but not the DC. Bypass works fine but no tone at all, no change in any of the knobs.
Also none of the solders are touching each other I did check that.
I tried to get a picture up here from my phone but apparently they are all too big

Majority of the time, these symptoms are the result of a bad solder joint somewhere in the build. Less often it is a misplaced component that kills the signal somewhere. Either way, we will need to see those photos: well lit, clear, and large enough for us to see the color bands on the resistors and all your off-board wiring.

If the photos are too large to upload as board attachments, there are many free online tools for resizing a photo. (I recommend about 1000px wide in the larger dimension.) You can also post your originals to Imgur or similar and link to them here.

Thanks Scott, maybe this Google drive folder will work for you?

I can't seem to get the PCB out of the surround now, I had a go, would have to desolder some stuff to get it out I guess

This behavior is most often caused by this common DC jack wiring error: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=52139

While you'll need to dismount the pots, I/O jacks and footswitch to remove the PCB assembly from the enclosure, the only desoldering that needs to be done is the three connections to the DC jack....two of which need to be changed anyway, if I'm right about the preceding item.

Can you see any resistors that I may have put in the wrong spot?
So the DC wires are around the wrong way, I'll give that a try.
Does that have anything to do with the overdrive effect not working also? I'm guessing not since the battery power worked

Correct. Should still work with the battery.

Nope, the resistors all look correct. The transistors and electros are all installed with the correct orientation. Are you sure you didn't swap any of the 3904 and 3906 trannies?

Checked the 3904 and 3906 transistors, all in the right spot

Two questions:

  1. Did you check the DC jack wiring & fix it if it was wrong?
  2. Do you have access to a multimeter and know how to measure DC voltage with one?
