I’ve built the lil fuzz and it’s not working when engaged but I can hear my amp in bypass.
I haven’t set the bias yet but I turned the trim pot up, I should be hearing something right? I’ve reflowed the solder multiple times

I took it out from the housing since it was hard to get a photo inside(wired it too tight I guess)

Set the trimpot in the center of its rotation for now. Take a voltage reading of the Q2 collector. This test point would be the exposed metal part of the trimpot closest to the text that reads "li'l fuzz".

In case you need instructions on how to do that:

To measure the DC voltage level on transistor legs, set your multimeter to the DC voltage mode, indicated by a straight line above a dotted line; use the 20VDC range setting if it's not an auto-ranging meter. Your power source needs to be connected and there needs to be a cable in the input jack. If the pedal is assembled into the metal enclosure, put the black probe into one of the corner screw bosses of the enclosure--this is your ground connection. If the "guts" are out of the enclosure, use the sleeve tab of the input jack for the ground connection. Then touch the red probe to the test point that you want to measure and hold it there until the reading is stable within a couple of hundredths of a volt.

My dmm has a ~V not a straight dotted line
I set it to ~V 20 on the dc setting and measured the trim pot
The trim pot measured 0.02 on the leg closest to “lil fuzz” and 9.08 on the other leg
Let me know if this seems right. Just for clarification I don’t need my amp or guitar on right? Just connected to my 1spot with an input in

Please post a pic of your DMM.

OK, so you switch between AC and DC voltage with the blue button on the left?

You need to adjust the trimpot so that you're getting around 4.5 - 5.5v on the leg closest to the Li'l Fuzz text.

Not sure, but try dialing in the voltage as Keith has directed and see how the pedal responds. Another possibility is that the trimpot itself is defective and the voltage doesn't move.

Ok with my meter set to dc mode on 20v and the pedal powered to my 1spot with an input jack in the in and negative on sleeve, I’m getting 0.00 with the trim fully to the left and 0.29 with it fully to the right.

I’m guessing my transistors are bad? I’ve done around 10 pedals from byoc and the only other time I’ve had a problem was with bad transistors

No help? Is my meter set right? Is the trim pot bad? Anything else I can do?

Your meter appears to be set correctly, assuming that you are choosing the DC mode with the left-hand blue button.

I suspect the problem is a bad bias pot, but a transistor could also be at fault. You should be able to tell which by lifting the bottom lead of the 4.7K resistor next to the transistor and then measure the DC voltage at the top lead of that resistor while turning the bias pot through its sweep range. Assuming a power source voltage of ~9V, you should see around 3.4V at full CCW and 9V at full CW, if the pot is working.
