Hello,
I am an Idiot
I blew a Clipping LED for Silver Pony II
How might I purchase replacements.
Or, can I use another LED from another BYOC kit I just got (Large Beaver Triangle). or another random LED I have for tea lights
Note to All:
Do Not touch a clipping LED directly to a 9V battery.
I did and I learned not to do that.

Any Help appreciated
Thank You

Jack

Yep, you can use the LED from another BYOC kit. Red diffused is the most common for clipping LEDs.

And now you have learned why there is a current-limiting resistor (CLR) in pedals! This part prevents the battery or AC adapter from frying the LED. Pro tip for testing LEDs in the future: a 3V coin-shaped battery works great and won't damage the part.a

Thank you Scott.
Should I use a specific DC Voltage, mA, diameter, color
Do they need to be used in pairs?
Are the white 3V tea light LED's I have on hand an option?
I am dipping my toes into this hobby, so please pardon my lack of knowledge.

Thanks again,

Jack

Yeah, but it worked great for a tenth of a second or so! ;)

I use my DMM in the diode setting.

You can use most any LED, with some minor variations in sound. If you have one, I would say use a red diffused LED (like the one that came with the kit), but it probably doesn't matter much. You can also put sockets in those spots so you can mix and match and swap things and see what sounds best to you.
