Build Your Own Clone Message Board

I'm trying to use the voltage starve/dying battery mod from the big pile of steaming mods on one of my builds, but I'm using the pumped up fuzz face board from guitarpcb that has a charge pump for PNP transistors. I managed to place the leads to the potentiometer after the charge pump, so it's lowering the voltage after it's been inverted, but all it seems to do is drop the volume and gain instead of giving me that ripped velcro type sound. Is there anther way I could achieve this sound/tone?

You need to place the mod between the negative output of the charge pump and the PCB, not between the the power supply and the charge pump.

Really, you want the mod between ground and the circuit, because the charge pump is tricking the transistors into thinking the -9v is ground and ground is +9v, but you don't want it to affect your chassis ground, i.e., you want the sleeves of your jacks to still be able to connect directly to ground without any resistance in the way.
