If you have a sound clip/video of your octave fuzz in action put it here along with what gear you used so others can enjoy the octave fuzz in all it's octaving glory... that is if you don't have the octave lift mod on

hgere's a quick demo of the Octave Fuzz-based pedal I built. It is essesntially the complete kit, rehoused in a 1590BB and added a footswitchable feedback loop.

http://73guitars.blogspot.com/2008/10/a ... -demo.html

Gear used: 1985 Laney AOR 50 1x12 combo, set on the clean side of things with a bit of reverb, and a 1995 American Standard Strat with a SD Lil' '59 humbucker in the bridge. It's just guitar-fuzz-amp, nothing else.

I thought that Matt made a demo video of the Octave Fuzz when he first released it? Does anyone have a copy or a link to it?

Thanks,

Steve.

Keith had made a video of the octave fuzz in action back when he first released it but it has gone missing at some point during website overhauls, the old link for goes no where

Thanks Brownie, I was hoping to get a look at it so that I could see what the pedal should sound like before I built it.

well it is a thick nasty fuzz which isn't to everyone's liking and it can also sound different depending on what gear you use which i have noticed with my limited amount of guitars and amps

Here is what my finished build sounds like. Is this how it's supposed to sound?

Enjoy!

I've found that all octave pedals sound their best using the neck pickup playing single notes around the 12th fret and higher. Rolling off the tone a little seems to work for a lot of folks too. Chords, IMO, are out of the question.

What's cool about the Scrambled Octave vs the Octave Fuzz is that you can dial in how much octave you want with Texture Knob (it's really an Octave Mix knob) and you can also mix how much fuzz vs. clean you want, too, with the Blend Knob. You can get some more usable chord tones out of it if you want but still get that high-up-the-neck octave thing too.
