Hi all,

My next project will most probably be a tonebender and a green ringer in one enclosure. Any thoughts on whether I should put the fuzz up front or the ringer?

Cheers,
Tom

Fuzz/Distortion sounds cool both before and after a ringer, and they sound different too. A Blue Clipper or BMP sounds cool in front, and the Ringer running into a Rat is nice too. This may be one project that a 4PDT toggle would be a great idea. That way you could toggle which effect goes first. Otherwise, you may want to play with the order before boxing it up to see which you like best.

Thanks, maybe i'll try to jumper the I/O 's so I still have the option to change with not to much effort. I think a 4pdt might be a bit too expensive for how often you are likely to witch. But it's good to know that both options sound good and different!

hmm, I just thought of a minor potential problem. The green ringer is a negative ground circuit and the tonebender is not. I think it should be fairly easy to change the positive ground circuit to a negative. Come to think of it, I believe I read an article about that somewhere on the web. Can't remember where though. Anyone?

One more thing. Is the mark II prefered over the mark III? Why is that? The mark three has a tone control, I would like that. Or is there also a 3-knop mark II version.

Thanks

Jup, found the article again, it's here for those interested:

So what about the mkII vs mkIII? Anyone?
