Hello everyone.
I was hoping to get some assistance regarding a strange issue I am having with a Super 8 build.
Prior to final assembly, I began testing all functions. Everything (LED's, inputs / outputs, switching) works as it should.
Except...
In 'Loop' mode, while testing individual loops one at a time:
Engaging loop #4 does NOT defeat the signal of other loops.
For example, say I am testing loop #2. It passes signal when engaged and is defeated when I engage any other loop in the chain.
Except #4. Signal will continue to pass.
Loop #4 functions properly when tested by itself.
(ie: it will pass signal when engaged but it defeated when another loop is engaged)
Any idea what to troubleshoot?
All the relays 'click' and turn on/off properly.

I would try and follow the traces from that relay back to the pcb with a magnifying glass to see if there might be any trace issues, carefully check the solder joints on the microcontroller, and try and reset the microcontroller in its socket. You might also contact BYOC to see if it could be a programming issue somehow. I'm not sure if it's possible that a chip got burned incorrectly. Do you have any other microcontrollers on hand to try? A swap would be a good troubleshooter.

Update: turned out to be a faulty relay. I've had a couple of these on recent builds. I keep a few extras on hand now.

hello,
i am having the exact same issue when testing for signal continuity through the loops... loop #7 does not defeat the signal of other loops when engaged.

how can i go about getting a replacement relay?

thanks!

Contact BYOC. Go to the main website and to the contact page.
