I used to have a PRS Santana SE II in Aqua Metallic.

I toured with it for two years.

It was all stock except for the EMG pickups.

When we relocated to Florida, it got sold to pay bills. A sad tale, indeed. :(

If anyone should know of one somewhere PM me. I'd sure like to have another one... 8)

Here is the stock photo :

Damn yeah! Right around the time the SEs were gaining popularity, that Santana was the balls for the money.

Yeah, all mahogany. That thing was incredible.

Well, it IS close, BUT I don't get along with 24 fret guitars.
The extra frets place the neck pickup too far back to get a good tone.

I DO appreciate you having my back. 8)

The search continues...

I had one of these (but in black) which I sold on Ebay in the last few months. Before selling it I did a bit of research to see what sort of price they were going for and there were quite a few going for sub £150 over here. I didn't see any with that finish though. :/

It was my band, Scooter & The Kickstands.

You can find our 2002 CD, "Accleration" on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby.

That picture was taken in Wisconsin somtime in March of '02.

*edit* That first one wasn't a stop tail.

Here's another at Guitar Center. They will ship it close to you for free I think.

Yeah, have them ship it to your local Guitar Center. That way its on them if it doesnt make it there safely. Good luck. I know what its like to miss an old guitar that you once loved.

Scooter, the pic above is pretty badass but you know what would make it completely badass? Swapping that fender out for a dual rec. You know you want to. 8)

No, thanks.

My tone is in my fingers which means I don't need anything getting in the way. 8)

In reference to buying from GC online,

I had a 4x12 cabinet shipped to from Nashville, and I am in NYC. It was FREE for the shipping.

Pretty incredible.

Good luck on your guitar search.

Well, it's been a LONG while since I made this post.

And even LONGER since I owned this guitar.

But I finally found another one!

I installed EMGs again, but this time I went with the '57/'66 set.

I love it.

I love it when someone is able to get the right axe for them, the one they love to play! THAT's what its all about, man!

I also love it when someone gets a long lost guitar back: Eric Johnson once had a favorite vintage strat stolen from him. 20+ years later, someone came into an Austin music store wanting to sell it. The astute store owner called Eric, he came down to the store, and he and the strat were soon back together!

I miss my old guitar, Tuco.
Image

Tuco was a MIJ 80's (I think) Fender Strat, bought in the late 80's. Heavily modded over the years with kill switches, two Lace Sensor pickups, expensive ones, more then the regular color named pups, and a killer DiMarzio hotrail bridge pickup. The original steel string retainers and saddles were exchanged for graph tech ones to deal with tuning issues. There was some damage on the back of the guitar due to a fall.

Image

Tuco was my favorite guitar. The one I was going to take with me into the grave (together with my silverface Fender Twin Reverb). I bought Tuco in the late 80's as part of my OCD with getting an Fender Strat with large 70's headstock. Which at that time were sheer unobtainium as either Fender didn't make any or all my local music stores were utterly clueless in how to order one. And then glorious day I found two. Oh happy day!

Tuco wasn't the best looking guitar, hell, I always found the white yellow color quite ugly. What I really wanted was a black Strat. Tuco had a rosewood neck, I generally prefer maple. Tuco played well though, especially after the graph tech upgrades. It's funny how you can have two almost identical guitars and end up favoring one over the other. Even though it's an ugly bastard. Henceforth the Tuco name. If my home was on fire and I could only grab one guitar, Tuco would have been it.

Tuco got lost when I played a gig with my band at a festival, after which I went home, unloaded my gear in storage and didn't open the storage space for a month on the account of it being the summer holiday. Only then to realize that Tuco was not present among my gear. I still don't know whether or not Tuco got stolen at the festival, or that I misplaced Tuco when unloading my gear at home into storage, leaving it accidentally outside during the chaos of unloading (I lost a bike that way too). Tuco is sadly missed and even though I've bought and built other guitars, none has come forth to claim that 'if your home was on fire which guitar would you grab' position. I'm not looking for another guitar like Tuco, or which looks like Tuco, I just want Tuco back. :(
