Impressive work, Scooter. Someone really did a number on that thing, I didn't think it could ever come back.

Thanks, man. I really wasn't certain that I could make it playable again.

Thank you very much. I was quite upset when I first saw how bad it was.

In my estimation, there are people in the world who should NOT be allowed access to tools.

Daaaammmnnn scooter. Now, here's the million dollar question. Did you take pity on the guitar player and charge a minimum, or did you add extra for letting somebody do that to a guitar? I'm kidding, I'd really love to learn to dress frets, but not so much replace them just yet.

Nope. She paid $250 for the refret and $50 for a new potentiometer and wiring.

I do so many refrets that it all balances out between problem jobs and easier ones.

Dressing frets is quite tedious, but really the easy part of the process.

Replacing frets is the bigger deal for me.

That's really stand up man. For all the work you had to do or did, that's great man. I'm sure part of it is you love what you do.

Well, thanks very much. I appreciate that.

There is the love of the work, of course.

But it's a bit deeper than you might think.

I see my duty as being to the instrument first in spite of the desires of it's owner.

One of my customers calls me an "Instrument Advocate". I think that's pretty accurate.

When I saw this guitar and how it had been violated, I was compelled to make it righteous.

I love that. I don't do nearly what you do, but I do small set ups for friends for nothing just to pay it forward is the best way to put it.

Beautiful clean work. I bet the customer was blown away.

I've dressed frets. Never tried (or even want to try) replacing frets. Dressing is quite a job in itself but really satisfying when yycan finally play said guitar comfortably.

Thank you, sir!

Just another day for me actually.

Finishing up my third refret since that one this morning.

She left me a very nice voicemail thanking for bringing her favorite guitar back from oblivion.

Replacing frets is actually the easy part.

Dressing is mostly time consuming and tedious.

But that is where the rubber meets the road.
