From the facebooks; the Mosaic Modular Distortion and Boost! Nifty!

Quote:
Introducing the Mosaic: modular distortion and boost
This is just the prototype. To start we'll be offering 11 different distortion modules and 5 different boosts.
Distortions:
DOD250/Dist+
Russian muff
Ram's head muff
Triangle muff
Gov'nor/Shredmaster
Blues Breaker
Silicon/Germanium Fuzz Face
MKI/MKII tone bender
Classic Overdrive
RAT
Experimenter (196 pad per hole w/ spaces for 2 x DPDT and a pot)
Boosts:
MOSFET
JFET
LPB
Germanium
BiFET
The distortion modules connect to a pedal with bass, treble, and a parametric midrange. All the distortion modules have 2 toggles switches that do various things. The production model will have the option to add another toggle so that you can flip the order of the boost and distortion.

Quote:
No definite answers yet. Modules will probably range from $9.99 for the simple boosts up to $39.99 for something with 3 x NOS germanium transistors. The base unit will likely be $99.99. A realistic release date would be 2 - 3 months from now.

Wonderfully executed. I predict a lot of interest in this kit.

A bunch of folks have requested an HM-2 for a while now. I had one and thought it was one of the most awful sounding pedals I’d ever heard. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

So is this like a well-executed BYOC version of the Devi Ever "Console" concept?

Either way, I approve of this awesome idea.

Very neat idea! I will be closely watching this.

semi-unrelated rant: I bought a Silver Pony base kit and it was shipped fast and went cross country in a day. Was "out for delivery" last Friday @ 9am. Still no delivery. Oh USPS, how I hate thee sometimes. I had a free weekend and was itching to build it.

Looks super cool! (And fun to see that Keith eats his own dog food with that stranded purple wire!) :-D

The only way this would be cooler would be if it somehow used Nintendo-style cartridges to switch.

What ever happened to that project that Devi Ever was doing? Did anything ever come out of that?

Hoo Boy...that's some drama right there. If you google the Devi Ever Console you will get a LOT of info. I'd rather not contribute to what has already been said.
