Here’s a little something I found on Reverb a few months ago that I had to try. My LP Custom has a bone nut and has always had a bit of difficulty with the G string staying in tune. Same with the D but not as bad. My LP Traditional has a GraphTech XL nut (or something like that) and has never had any tuning issues. I attribute that to the GT nut. Anyway I purchased the clear String Butler to make the addition of it a little less noticeable and I couldn’t be happier with it. Here’s a video that is a good demo of what it does. It's a bit pricey but until someone comes up with a better and less expensive solution I think I'll stick with it.

Cool design! Nifty idea. How heavy is it—do you notice the headstock weighing down a bit more?

The clear one is made out of what looks to be 1/8” thick acrylic so it weighs next to nothing. Since it’s clear it doesn’t cover the split diamond pattern on the headstock so unless you’re fairly close you really don’t notice it.

File this under "snake oil"for me.

None of what they're seeking to correct is the true cause of tuning problems at or behind the nut.

It's the same principle of curing acne with a wrecking ball behind the Floyd Rose tremolo.

Just because you seemingly correct an issue doesn't resolve the fact that you have a responsibility to take care of the original issue.

In essence, you have corrected a symptom but not cured the problem.

That being the nut needing to be properly cut, properly polished and properly lubricated.
